About Odyssey of the Mind (OOTM)
Odyssey of the Mind is a CREATE program open to 5th and 6th grade CREATE students at both schools. Each school has one team that competes in Division II. Each team consists of 7 members, two 5th graders and five 6th graders. Team members are selected randomly from the pool of interested CREATE students. Students meet twice a week during school and one day a week after school from 3-5pm.
If you think you may be interested in Odyssey of the Mind and would like to see some teams in action, I would encourage you to try and see a live competition. The state finals are in Ewing, NJ, on April 14th. Please use the links to the Odyssey sites below for directions and more information.
March 2018 Update
This year's Odyssey of the Mind teams competed in the Skylands Regional Tournament on Saturday, March 17th. Both teams performed their original "skit" for the long term problem and competed in the spontaneous competition. Here are some pictures from our day.
January 2018 Update
Both Cherry Hill and Roosevelt teams have been busy reading and brainstorming the Long Term problems all fall, as well as practicing their spontaneous problem solving skills. Both teams have chosen which long term problem they will solve for the competition and have generated long lists of possible ideas for setting, script and characters. This week, we began to narrow down our choices to our top two, and we will soon begin to work on our script and building our sets and costumes!
